about

(Acadian trad)
This haunting tune comes from Acadian fiddler Joseph Larade by way of the singing of André Marchand, one of the leading lights of traditional music in Québec. The lyrics of this ancient song deal with the sordid and heartless betrayal of a woman not only by her drunken philandering husband but by her children who want to be just like him. (A trio of country-tuned G harmonicas)
